ABOUT US

John F. Kennedy Memorial Field Hockey tournament was started forty three years ago in dedication to international goodwill and promotion of field hockey by a local group of enthusiast and dedicated committee members. The John F. Kennedy Memorial Field Hockey Tournament is the oldest field hockey tournament in the United States. Named in honor of President Kennedy, the tournament was held annually next to the Reflecting Pool at the National Mall in Washington D.C. until the turn of the century. Since then, national and international teams from all parts of the world have competed which include teams from Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and North America. As was the ambiance of the tournament back then and still today, athletes and teams have united in a common goal of promoting the sport and international diplomacy through sportsmanship. The tournament originating in Washington DC is now located in Virginia Beach at the US National Field Hockey Training Center.
