NEWS _______________________________________________Rye Field Hockey Club (New York) & GOA Ladies (Toronto) Lift 2008 Men’s and Women’s JFK Trophies. Rye FHC defeated Toronto Lions 2-1 in penalty strokes to win the 44th JFK International field hockey tournament held at the US National Training Center in Virginia Beach. Goa Ladies defeated the Miami FHC 1-0 in an exciting final. Goa Ladies defeated Team Dita 1-0 in their semi-final match and Miami gained a walk over since Ohio State had to leave the site early to catch their flights home. Rye FHC and GOA Ladies will receive an automatic entry and their fees for 2009 are waived. While the tournament does not pay out cash prizes, the winners do receive trophies and their fees for the up coming tournament are waived. This year’s award recipients are:
